The Kidde i12010S is a hardwired 120V smoke alarm. It features a sealed lithium battery back-up for worst case scenarios when power to this device is disconnected. This battery is sealed-in and lasts for 10 years for a long-lasting, worry-free operation. As it is intended to work for 10 years, the homeowner doesn’t have to worry about battery replacement in this time period. When the battery is at the end of its life, it will chirp so that this alarm can be replaced. This Kidde smoke detector uses state-of-the-art technology to detect harmful smoke build-up. This alarm uses ionization sensing technology, which helps detect invisible fire particles associated with flaming fires as opposed to photoelectric sensors that detect visible smoke particles. It is recommended that both ionization and photoelectric alarms are installed throughout the home to insure maximum detection. This model features a dust cover that protects the unit from contaminants when installing, which reduces the chance of a nuisance alarm occurring down the line. This alarm can be connected to up to 24 Kidde devices, including carbon monoxide (CO) and heat alarms, for whole home protection.
